Discovery and Renew are academic programs under the Department of Health and Human
Sciences with the College of Nursing and Health Sciences of Southeastern Louisiana
University. The projects are two of nine centers affiliated with the Louisiana Family
Resource Centers Network an organization with members all across the state. Discovery
was established in 1999 and Renew was established on November 12, 2009.   Our MISSION
is to strive to ensure the safety and well-being of children in a permanent home.

The Family Resource Projects provide a continuum of family preservation and support
services for families receiving services through the Department of Children and Family
Services. Services may be provided through group-based education, individualized curricula,
or Family Skills Building training for specific parenting needs, which are not addressed
through another curriculum. Services are available to families whose children are
in Foster Care or placed with relatives, or families who have their children but still
have risk factors.
