Kristin Ripley (’12 and ’20) has always had a love for science, education, and helping others in her field. A string of excellent teachers in junior high and high school allowed her to discover her love of science and her desire to teach that passion to future generations of students.
As the department head of science at Hammond High Magnet School, she now helps current students create bonds, get to know their own goals, and succeed in the classroom and beyond. She additionally spends her time helping teachers and student teachers who are just entering the field, offering them advice on how to be a better teacher in today’s world. This way, Kristin can be the best educator she can be inside and outside of the classroom.
