Southeastern and Hammond have a plethora of options when it comes to food.  It can
be overwhelming to find out where to go to eat and how to get there. Southeastern’s
Campus offers various options for dining on campus but have hours of operation that
vary during the semester breaks and the summer.  If you arrive before the on campus
facilities are open, there are still plenty of options for off campus dining located
very near campus or your apartment. In fact, many places in Hammond offer delivery
options. The information below can help you.

It is also important to remember that when you are traveling to the U.S. to remember
to eat before, during, and after a long flight if possible.  Before you leave the
airport, grab a bite to replenish yourself before arriving in Hammond and taking care
of getting yourself settled.

 

Lion’s Lagniappe

Lion’s Lagniappe Account allows your Southeastern ID to work like a debit card. It’s easy to use, super convenient, and there’s no charge to set up your account! With Lion’s Lagniappe there’s no need to carry cash with you! Just swipe your ID
to make a purchase and the amount is automatically deducted from your account. 

Lion’s Lagniappe is accepted at many locations off campus, as well as most locations

Meal Plans

Our meal plans are flexible so you can get the most out of them.  With the exception
of the Basic Commuter Plan there are two parts to each meal plan.   The Meal Allowance
allows you to choose how many all-you-care-to-eat meals you want included in your
plan (these meals are consumed at The Mane Dish).   Cub Cash is declining balance
dollars and supplements the weekly meal allowance to be used at all campus food service
locations.

Once you have your meal plan your student ID works like a debit card.  Just swipe
your card and the meal or Cub Cash charge is deducted from your account.

Sign up for your meal plan during registration or visit the Dining Services Office located on the first floor of the Student Union.  Voluntary (Commuter) Meal Plans
can be purchased online at southeastern.edu/dining.

 

Dining Options

With a meal plan, the meal allowance portion is consumed at the Mane Dish while Cub
Cash is used at all campus dining locations. Students without meal plans can eat at
any campus dining facility using cash, credit or debit cards, or Lion’s Lagniappe.

Food Pantry

The Office of Multicultural and International Student Affairs has partnered with the
Southeastern Foundation to create the Southeastern Food Pantry.  The Food Pantry provides
food and other useful items to Southeastern students struggling with food insecurity.
