Coming from a musical family, Miranda Sensat started practicing clarinet in the sixth grade and instantly fell in love with playing music. In high school, she switched to bassoon, and her passion for the field only grew. When it came time to pick a major in college, she knew music was her right path.
Gaining hands-on experience helping keep things running smoothly for Southeastern’s marching band in harmonizing with others, she is now taking her first step toward her dream career as a music professor and music store owner.
Action Plan
Get easy access to everything at Southeastern by moving into campus housing.
Rise to the top as principal bassoonist for Southeastern’s symphony and symphony orchestra.
Find a campus family by becoming active in Sigma Alpha Iota music fraternity.
Help pump up the football team for victory as the undergraduate assistant for the Spirit of the Southland Marching Band.
Apply to grad school for a master’s in bassoon performance and then a doctorate.
