Graduate Nursing Programs

Southeastern Louisiana University, School of Nursing offers three graduate nursing programs:

1.  The Masters' program is part of a consortium of four universities working colloratively to provide a comprehensive curriculum in advanced practice nursing leading to a Master of Science in Nursing.

2. The Post Masters' Certificate program offers a curriculum that enhances the capabilities of existing adult nurse practitioners to care for patients across the lifespan as Family Nurse Practitioners or Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioners..

3. The Doctor of Nursing Practice Program prepares graduates to perform at the highest level of nursing practice. At the completion of this program graduates will hold a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and will be prepared to redesign and evaluate nursing and healthcare systems.

      A.  The BSN to DNP Program is designed for nurses seeking a family nurse practitioner specialization with a practice-focused doctoral degree.

      B.  The Post-MSN DNP Program is designed for advanced practice registered nurses (nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwife, certified registered nurse anesthesist, and clinical nurse specialist) and nurse executives.

NO MORE THAN ONE-THIRD OF THE HOURS REQUIRED FOR THE DEGREE MAY BE TRANSFERRED. For collaborative degree programs (Master's of Science in Nursing) and academic partnerships (Doctor of Nursing Practice) with other universities, at least one-third of the credit hours required for graduation must be earned through instruction offered by Southeastern.
