Miss Southeastern

The Miss Southeastern Louisiana University Competition is a preliminary competition as part of the Miss Louisiana/Miss America Organization.

Shelby was crowned Miss Southeastern Louisiana University 2024 on January 26, 2024 at the Columbia Theater. She is a Strategic Communications Major, from Sunshine, Louisiana. In June she will compete for the title of Miss Louisiana.

Shelby’s social impact initiative is Shelby’s Social Canvas: Brushing Life’s Colors in Every Post.

CAB has sponsored the Miss Southeastern Scholarship Competition since the 1970’s. Each Miss Southeastern goes on to compete in the Miss Louisiana Scholarship Competition.  

She gets to participate in many exciting events throughout the year as she represents Southeastern. 

The Miss Southeastern Louisiana University Scholarship Competition organization follows the same guidelines for the judging process that are set forth by the

Miss America Organization

Below you will find all the qualifications, deadlines, and paperwork needed to apply.

To compete you must:

• Enrolled full time at Southeastern Louisiana University
• 2.5 Cumulative GPA
• Be enrolled in Southeastern for the entire year of reign
• Be between the ages of 17 and 26
• Be a United States citizen
• Meet residency requirements for competing in a certain town or state
• Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization
• Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements
• Be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities as set forth by the local program in which you compete
