Southeastern Louisiana University’s Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) is a voluntary program offered by Southeastern Louisiana University to support students in recovery achieve their higher education.

Acceptance into the CRP is independent from admission to Southeastern Louisiana University, i.e. admission to or continued acceptance into Southeastern Louisiana University is not contingent upon, nor does it guarantee, admission to or continued acceptance into the CRP. Conversely, individuals must be current students at Southeastern Louisiana University to remain in the CRP.

There is a rolling application deadline for acceptance into the Introductory Collegiate Recovery Program and the Collegiate Recovery Program. Applications will be accepted year-round.

Introductory Collegiate Recovery Program

Eligibility

  • 6 months or less Abstinence Based Recovery
  • Acceptance into Southeastern Louisiana University
  • A dedication to working towards and Establishing Sustained Recovery
  • Interview with CRP Staff
  • Active participation in a Twelve-Step Recovery Program or equivalent recovery program
  • Commitment to service

Requirements

  • Attend weekly Seminar Classes
  • Attend at least two (2) Recovery meetings weekly
  • Attend monthly “Southeastern Recovery Night” Meetings
  • Sign up to meet with your academic advisor each semester
  • Schedule and meet with a counselor from UCC or an outside community professional counselor with specialized training in substance dependency/recovery on a regular basis during the first six (6) months of recovery.

  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation from varying individuals for verification of recovery (See Recommendations Forms below - form AND a letter)
  • Write a Personal Narrative of your Recovery (2-3 pages)
  • Clinical interview with CRP Staff
  • Photo of yourself for filing purposes
