African American Alumni Chapter Scholarship

 

Scholarship is awarded once per year.

 

Minimum Criteria for Selection of Recipient

The minimal selection criteria for the awarding of The African American Alumni Chapter Endowed Scholarship are listed as follows:


A. The scholarship is to be awarded to a deserving African American student who is a
full time student attending Southeastern Louisiana University.

B. The student must have an overall college grade point average of 2.5.

C. The student must be a full-time student at a sophomore or higher academic classification. (A full-time student is defined as a student enrolled in 12 hours of credit courses. Must have 30 earned credit hours to be eligible.)

D. The student must demonstrate leadership ability, academic achievement and personal/financial need.

E. The student must show extracurricular and/or community involvement.

F. The student must submit an application packet which must include a completed application, two (2) letters of recommendation and ONE (1) COPY OF AN OFFICIAL academic transcript.


Selection Process:

The Southeastern Louisiana University Foundation will administer The African American Alumni Chapter Scholarship. The AAAC scholarship committee will select the scholarship recipient.  A COMPLETE APPLICATION PACKET MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE OFFICE OF MULTICULTURAL & INTERNATIONAL STUDENT AFFAIRS BY THE APPLICATION DEADLINE.
