Message From the President

September 24, 2019

Progress continues to be made toward our Workday project goals. For those new employees who may be unaware, the University is moving to Workday, a new Enterprise Resource Planning platform that will replace the current PeopleSoft system. We are migrating to the platform along with two other University of Louisiana System institutions: Louisiana Tech and UNO.

We have made tremendous strides as we work toward our July 2020 go-live date for the Human Resources/Financials portion. The ultimate result will be a cutting-edge, cloud-based platform with a user experience that is far superior to our current system.

The Workday team has completed three of the five key phases of implementation. We have begun the test phase and, once that is complete, we will launch this portion of the new platform. Please be on the lookout for announcements in the spring semester about open trainings for users. Making sure our employees are comfortable using the platform is an essential part of the implementation. For a brief overview video of the project, visit Southeastern’s Workday web page.

Thank you to all of you who have been so crucial to our progress.

John L. Crain
President
