Organizational Grants

Southeastern’s Student Government Association awards Organizational Grants to provide opportunities for Southeastern recognized student organizations and Fraternity and Sorority Life organizations to host educational events on campus.  Up to $500.00 may be awarded toward the cost of any such event.  In order for the grant to be awarded, a bill to fund the grant must be written and passed by the Student Government Association Senate.  See the image below for an overview of the process:

Organizational Grant Process Steps

  1. 7 – 8 weeks before project/event, schedule informational meeting with Student Government Association Gratudate Assistant
  2. At least 6 weeks before project/event, submit grant application
  3. 1 week after application is submitted, receive dates to present at Appropriations and Senate meetings
  4. 2 – 3 weeks after application is submitted, present at Appropriations Committee meeting
  5. 2 – 3 weeks after application is submitted, present at Senate meeting
  6. Within 1 day of the Senate meeting, notified of bill pass/fail
  7. Upon finalization of budgets, if bill passed, receive “Next Steps” email with instructions on making expenditure(s)
