This year’s winner of the President’s Excellence Award in Creative Activity is Southeastern’s Writer in Residence and Instructor of English Alison Pelegrin. A resident of Covington, she has been a member of the Southeastern faculty for 20 years.

She prides herself in being a lifelong learner; recognizing that instruction occurs outside as well as inside the classroom; conveying genuine interest, excitement and passion for the content, profession, and the students’ learning and growth; and treating students as active partners in the learning process.

Jerry Parker – President’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service

This year’s Excellence in Faculty Service Award winner’s service to Southeastern spans many areas. In fact, Jerry Parker’s service activities have included numerous assignments and committee memberships. These have ranged from serving as an administrative advisor to serving as chair or project leader on some of the most important committees of the university.
