In addition to traditional degree programs, Southeastern offers alternate and add-on certification programs through non-master’s and graduate programs. The College of Education also collaborates with the Tangipahoa Parish School Board to oversee the Southeastern Louisiana University Laboratory School on campus.
Southeastern's alternate certification programs are designed for individuals who hold a bachelor's or graduate degree in another field and who seek to qualify for state teacher certification. Individuals may obtain a master's degree or complete a certification-only program.
Alternate Certification ProgramsCertified teachers in Louisiana may add on additional certifications to their teaching certificate by completing requirements found in Bulletin 746: Louisiana Standards for State Certification of School Personnel.
