Graduation Application, Fees and Deadlines

ALL STUDENTS PLANNING TO EARN THEIR DEGREE MUST SUBMIT A GRADUATION APPLICATION REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT THEY PLAN TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY!

Fall 2024 or Later Graduation

Step 1: Apply for Program Completion (Graduation)

Submit Your Program Completion Application

The Graduation Application, now called the Application for Program Completion, is your first step to receiving your academic credential(s). This includes undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates.

You must complete your Program Completion Application before the deadline (see below). A delay in completing this step could cost you late fees and keep you from graduating on time.

If you have questions or encounter any issues when applying, please call the Office of the Registrar at (985) 549-2244.

Step 2: Fees and Deadlines

Apply for graduation early to avoid paying a late fee! If you are applying for graduation during a late fee period, you will submit your application first. Then, the late fee will be applied to your student account.

Effective August 1, 2024:

Graduation Application Late Fee — Graduating students will pay a non-refundable late graduation application fee according to the following schedule.

No applications will be accepted after the final deadline. If the last day to apply falls on a day when the University is closed, the deadline will become the next business day.

A few things to remember:

Step 3: Southeastern Exit Survey

The Southeastern Exit Survey is a two-part survey that must be completed during your last
semester.

You will receive the first part of the survey via email from the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment at the beginning of the semester you intend to graduate, provided you have applied for program completion for that intended semester. The second part of the survey will be sent to you via email about two weeks before graduation.

If you do not complete this two-part survey, your diploma will be held.
