Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology attempts to foster, among all students, a grasp and appreciation of the scientific method in the study of behavior, and to stimulate interest in the field of Psychology. An undergraduate major in psychology is offered as preparation for either graduate study or careers in which the science of behavior is applicable.

We offer bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology with a strong emphasis on the development of research and analytical skills. A diverse range of classes are available in areas such as social, cognitive, personality, life-span development, clinical and abnormal, physiological, perception, industrial / organizational and evolutionary psychology.

Students acquire skills that are highly valued by employers, such as analyzing data, communicating complex information and understanding human behavior

Psychology 101 research participants have access to the Sona System website

Research Incubator for Psychology Students (RIPS) program provides students with the opportunity to gain research experience.
