Related Programs
The Department of World Languages and Cultures provides many resources to support our undergraduate and graduate programs. We also
offer several non-degree academic programs.
English as a Second Language
Students at any level of proficiency, from beginning to advanced English skills, are
encouraged to participate in our program. We offer part-time and full-time courses
of study. Both part-time and full-time students meet for three hours twice per week
for a comprehensive course that includes grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking
and listening components. Full-time students will also attend our Multimedia English
Engagement class, which takes place in the ESL computer lab.
Study Abroad
Your Passport to Success
Study Abroad adds an invaluable dimension to a student’s academic, cultural, and professional
development, and provides an advantage in an increasingly competitive job market.
Firsthand experience of other countries and cultures provides a clearer understanding
of ourselves, our own society and culture, our place in the global community, and
our common human heritage.
Students earn college credit while studying abroad. During the winter break, spring
and summer semester, the Department will offer programs to Spain, Italy, Canada and
England.
