Group Study Rooms

Sims Library has 10 group study rooms on the fourth floor for collaborative study, class work and research. Study rooms accommodate 2-6 persons and are available on a first-come, first-served basis to Southeastern students. Rooms are designed for group collaboration, not individual study. While individuals may use a room if available, please be aware that groups may request to use the space and will have priority.

Study Carrels (Faculty and Graduate Students)

Sims Library houses study carrels on the third and fourth floors that are available for assignment to support study and research by currently enrolled graduate students and full-time faculty. Each carrel is equipped with a desk, chair and electrical outlet.

Applications for study carrels are available online. Click here for more information and to access the application.

InterLibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan is a service by which Sims Library obtains research materials not available in the Sims Library.  Current students, faculty and staff are eligible to use ILL.

In order to request materials through interlibrary loan, all users must first register through ILLiad, our interlibrary loan system. After registering, users can request interlibrary loan materials through ILLiad, check the status of their requests, and view a history of requests submitted through ILLiad.

ILL items may be picked up and returned at the Circulation Desk. Faculty and Staff can request to have their items delivered to their department. Click here to access the Interlibrary Loan page.

Document Delivery: Article and Book Delivery Service for Distance Education Students

Use your ILLiad account to request copies of articles owned by Sims Library in print or articles from other universities. Scanned documents are sent to your ILLiad account and are available to view for download for 30 days. All requests for articles are free.

Distance Education students may also request that books owned by Sims Library be mailed to them from their ILLiad account. Sims Library books are checked out to you and shipped to your home address. Books will be shipped via USPS. Users are responsible for return shipping costs.

Please note: Our Interlibrary Loan policies prohibit us from mailing books not owned by Sims Library to faculty and students. Click here for full details.

Guest Printing

Non-Southeastern users needing to print may use the Xerox Workstation located across from the first floor Checkout Desk.  Users will first need to save their work as PDF to a USB drive, then print at the Xerox Workstation using the balance on a personal Lion’s Lagniappe card. Guest users should visit the first floor Reference Desk for help.

The Lion’s Lagniappe Cash to Card Terminal in the Library is located across from the first floor Checkout Desk. Guests may purchase a refillable card for $1.00 and add funds as needed. The terminal accepts cash only, $20 bill or smaller, no coins. The entire amount will be added to card balance; no change or cash back is available from this machine. The Library does not have cash or change.  An ATM is available on the first floor of the Library.
