Fall 2007 -- new registration procedures, deadlines

8/13/07

Registered students were mailed a new Fall 2007 Registration Guide and Map last week which provides detailed steps and information to assist students in completing the enrollment and fee payment processes by the applicable deadlines.

Students should review the information provided and contact the appropriate department if you have any questions or need any assistance. In particular, it is very important that students are aware of some new registration procedures that are in effect for Fall 2007.

Please see the information below and pay close attention to the deadlines and student responsibilities that could impact your enrollment, especially the section about dropping all your classes if you decide not to enroll or having to pay the tuition and fees.

Final Registration:
Those students who paid all fees by the Aug. 10 deadline had access to the priority drop/add period on Monday morning, August 13. All other students who still intend to enroll (including students who did not drop all their classes by Aug. 10) will be assigned new registration appointments and may register and/or make adjustments to their schedules during the final registration period from noon Monday, Aug. 13 through 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16. New freshmen participating in the Aug. 13-14 orientation program will register for their classes on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 14.

All remaining balances are due by the final fee payment deadline on Thursday, Aug. 16 at 6 p.m. Classes will not be cancelled for non-payment. Students who decide not to enroll must drop all their classes by the final fee payment deadline. Students are responsible for tuition and fees for any courses that remain on their schedule after the final fee payment deadline and may incur penalties and/or sanctions until the account balance is settled.

Any students who need assistance with dropping their classes or canceling their enrollment by the final deadline may contact the Records and Registration Office at 1-800-222-SELU or 985-549-2066.

No Late Registration – Registration Ends Before Classes Begin:
Registration ends before classes begin. Only students with documented extenuating circumstances and approval from their academic dean will be allowed to make schedule changes once classes start on Monday, Aug. 20.

If you are relying on financial aid to help fund your tuition and fees and do not know the status of your financial aid award, you should check on it immediately. You can check your award status through your LeoNet account.  Students who do not drop their classes before the first day of class will be responsible for their tuition and fees regardless of the outcome of their financial aid application.

Students, be responsible for your account.  If you do not plan to enroll, make sure you drop your classes.  If you do not want to drop your classes, make arrangements to pay your fees.

The Fall 2007 semester promises to be exciting for all our students, faculty and staff. We look forward to having you on campus and want to do everything we can to support you as you pursue your academic goals.
