     HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Science and Technology recognized students for outstanding academic performance at the college’s May 2 honors convocation.
     Outstanding Graduating Senior awards in biological sciences were presented to Amber Faucheux of Baton Rouge, Brooke McLin and Bryce McClin of Buece, and Christopher Thomas of Independence.
     The Department of Chemistry and Physics recognized Andrew Holt of Baton Rouge as its outstanding graduating senior, while the Department of Computer Science and Industrial Technology honored Ross Murray Jr. with its outstanding senior award.
     Other outstanding graduates recognized were Robert Gill III of Bogalusa, bachelor’s program in industrial technology; Kerry Clasen of Kenner, associate degree program in industrial technology; and Jack Lavergne of Zachary, occupational safety, health and environment.
     Erin C. Mire of Houma and Sujan Pant of Hammond received outstanding senior awards in mathematics.
     Also at the event, Michael Minkus of Hammond was presented with the college’s Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Southeastern Alumni Association. A 1980 graduate in physics and 1979 graduate with an associate’s degree in computer science, Minkus joined Texaco USA’s Headquarters Planning Department and moved up through the company serving as supervisor of the New Orleans computing infrastructure and later vice president of Texaco Communications and chairman of the Gloval IT Telecommunications Council. Upon his retirement from CevronTexaco in 2002, he returned to Hammond and served as a volunteer for Holy Ghost School. He is now a member of the school’s administrative staff in charge of technology for Holy Ghost Parish.

3) COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HONORS (West Baton Rouge) - Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Science and Technology honored its distinguished students at the college’s annual honors convocation May 2. Receiving awards as outstanding seniors in biological sciences were sisters Brooke and Bryce McLin of Buece. With them are Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Tammy Bourg and Dean Dan McCarthy of the College of Science and Technology.


4) COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HONORS (St. Tammany) --
Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Science and Technology honored its distinguished students at the college’s annual honors convocation May 2. Ross Murray Jr., center, of Slidell received the award as the outstanding graduating senior in computer science. With him are Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Tammy Bourg and Dean Dan McCarthy of the College of Science and Technology.

 

5) COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HONORS (Tangipahoa) - Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Science and Technology honored its distinguished students at the college’s annual honors convocation May 2. Receiving an award as an outstanding graduating senior in biological sciences was Christopher Thomas, center, of Independence. With him are Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Tammy Bourg and Dean Dan McCarthy of the College of Science and Technology.


6) COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HONORS (Terrebonne) - Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Science and Technology honored its distinguished students at the college’s annual honors convocation May 2.
