Our campus tours are offered on available weekdays Monday through Friday during the fall and spring semesters. During the summer, campus tours are offered on available weekdays Monday through Thursday only.

The best time to experience Southeastern is when classes are in session. Consider visiting our campus on available weekdays Monday-Thursdays. Tours are open for registration on most Friday mornings during the spring and fall semester. However, most students are not on campus on Fridays or during University holidays.

University holidays include:

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Mardi Gras
  • Easter / Spring Break
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Fall Break
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas

Tours are open for registration on available Friday mornings during the spring and fall semester, with the University closing at 12:30 PM. Please note: The number of classes in session are limited on Fridays, so most students will not be on campus. During the summer, tours are not offered on Fridays due the University being closed on Fridays during that time.

Although our campus tours are offered on available weekdays only, there may be opportunities throughout the fall and spring semesters to visit for one of our Lion Pride Preview Days, which are typically held on select Fridays and Saturdays. If you would prefer to explore campus on your own, you can also find our Self-Guided Tour Packet. If you would like to register for one of our weekday tours, you can view available dates and register.

The campus tour typically lasts 90 minutes and includes a meeting with an Admissions Counselor to discuss Admissions, Financial Aid and Scholarships, along with a student-led walking tour of campus and housing facilities. Check out some other campus highlights you may want to include during your visit.

Preparing for Your Campus Tour

You will be emailed a visitor parking pass to print two days before your scheduled visit. With your parking pass, you may park in any available spaces on campus, including visitor parking, as well as student and faculty/staff spaces.

To get you as close as possible to the tour check-in location at the Student Union, we recommend that you park in one of the lots along North Oak Street (the Student Union/Bookstore lot or in front of Fayard Hall or McClimans Hall).

You will check in for the tour at the Enrollment Express Office at the Student Union, Room 1305 (In the breezeway across from the University Bookstore.) On the day of the tour, you will also receive a text message with a Google Map link for driving directions. If you need assistance, just give us a call at (985) 549-2540.

Campus tours typically include approximately 90 minutes of walking through campus and in our University Housing facilities. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes. If you need special accommodations, please email [email protected] at least 3 days in advance of your visit.

We have many on-campus dining options, and we hope you plan to stay for lunch either before or after your tour. Our dining locations are Mane Dish, our premier dining facility located on the 2nd floor of the Student Union. The Mane Dish was recently ranked the #1 campus dining facility in Louisiana! To view all dining locations, hours of operations and menus, visit Southeastern Campus Dish.

Our campus tours take place rain or shine unless there is inclement weather. Complimentary ponchos will be available for all visitors. Depending on the severity of the weather, we may have to alter the tour route, but we will include as much as we can to ensure a great tour experience. If severe weather persists, we may be required to cancel the tour as a safety precaution. In the event that a tour is cancelled due to weather, all registered guests will be notified with a phone call, email and text message.
