Professionalism

What is professionalism?

Professionalism is how you carry yourself in your work or tasks. Often, it’s easy
to identify individuals whose attitudes, actions, and behaviors are professionalism
like timely communications, providing clear feedback, and being accountable to deadlines.
Many employers state that professionalism is a key skill they’re looking for in today’s
college graduates.

Striving to achieve professionalism in your work life begins with learning some basic
behaviors – and understanding the reasons behind those behaviors – as well as taking
time for honest self-reflection as to whether or not you are exemplifying those behaviors.
Practicing professionalism can make an excellent first impression on your employer,
as well as setting the tone for a lifetime of career success.
