How to Volunteer

STD

Prepare for Success is designed to equip incoming Southeastern students with the tools and resources
needed to be successful throughout their collegiate journey.

This year, Prepare for Success will take place over the course of two days, August 14th and 15th.  We are excited
that the Division of Student Affairs and the College of Honors and Excellence have
teamed up to add a “1st Generation Prepare for Success Seminar” to the Prepare for
Success experience on August 14th.  We will also do the traditional Prepare for Success experience on both days as an, “Express Track” for students who are not participating
in the seminar.

WE NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE IN TWO WAYS!

1. Presenters:
We invite you to submit a proposal for a presentation beneficial to 1st Generation,
first-year students. We are especially interested in proposals on important first
semester skills and knowledge like: self-advocacy, belonging, financial literacy,
college readiness, college literacy, getting involved, technology tips, and any other
topics that will help students transition effectively to college.

2. Volunteers:
We will host students who would like to participate in the “1st Generation Prepare for Success Seminar” (August 14th-ONLY) and the “Express Track” (August 14th and 15th) of Prepare for Success.  We will need volunteers
throughout both days to assist with:
  • Registration / Check-In
  • Student Support and Mentorship – “Lion Leader”
  • Directional Assistance and Operations
  • Prep and Tear Down
  • And much more…
We need YOUR help to build successful students!
