What are the hours of Sims Library?

Library hours can be found in four places: the homepage search box, the homepage image gallery, the left navigation area of secondary library pages, and the Library Hours page.

How do I access databases off-campus?

To access indexes, databases, and electronic reserves from off campus, you will be required to enter your User ID and Date of Birth. The User ID will be your W number (ex. w0123456). The Date of Birth will be your 6 digit birth date in MMDDYY format (ex. 052403 for May 24, 2003). Take a look at our sample login screen.

How do I check out library books?

Bring the books and your Southeastern ID to the library's circulation desk. The checkout desk is located on the 1st floor near the Sims Library entrance. Please go to Borrow, Renew, Return for more information.

Where do I check out DVDs and equipment?

Check out equipment and technology gear at the check out desk on the 1st floor of the Library.

Where can I study in the library?

The Library offers different study and work environments. We have study rooms, collaborative spaces, and quiet zones available. Please visit our Places to Study page.

Where’s the library catalog?

The library catalog is found on our homepage, in the “Books & More” tab of the search box.

How do I access my library account (checked-out items, renewals, holds)?

Visit the “Books & More” tab on our homepage and click on “My Library Account.” Enter your W number and Date of Birth when prompted. You’ll see a summary of your account, including items you have checked out (“Checkouts”) and any requests (“Holds”) you’ve placed on items that are currently checked out. If you have fines/blocks on your account, you will see them here.

How can I access materials the library doesn’t own?

When you need materials that the library doesn’t own we recommend using Interlibrary Loan (ILL). To find out more information please visit the Interlibrary Loan guide or click on the “Borrow from Other Libraries (ILL)” tab on the Library’s homepage search box.

How can I get a work-study position in the library?

 When openings are available, work-study applications for student worker positions in the library can be accessed online.
